I did this for a number of reasons. Mainly, because this blog was always intended to be GNOME related and I had to have one for the OPW, so it was created for GNOME. Secondly, I don’t like the idea of readers being spammed with adverts.
When I first needed to get a blog, I was very disappointed that I could not have one on blogs.gnome.org because I was not a Foundation member, which is a requirement as one needs an @gnome.org email address. As it is, I resisted getting an GNOME email alias for as long as possible, but had to give in for the blog.
I had some problems importing the posts form this blog, but Andrea sorted it out very quickly (thanks!) so everything should not be running on the other blog without any problems.
This should be the last post here. Now go checkout the new blog for more goodness!
The GNOME username policy meant that I had to chose yet another username, which I do not want to use because it is yet another online identity.
